BIRTHDAY CARD CONTEST!

Given that February is a big month for famous birthdays (George Washington, Abe Lincoln, Liz Taylor, Steve Jobs, Jennifer Aniston, Nicolaus Copernicus, Bill VanPatten….), we thought a fun contest would be to design a birthday greeting card with a second language slant. You know, “Roses are red, violets are blue, it’s your birthday, so learn an L2.”  

There will be two winners selected: One winner for the best funny card and one winner for the best serious card. Here are the rules:

• All entries must be emailed to us by Saturday, February 24. 
• All cards should have front matter and inside matter, just like any greeting card.
• Any submission format is fine (e.g., pdf, jpeg, word), and you can use a free online “design your own greeting card” site if you wish.
• Be sure that all images and text used are copyright free so that we can publish them on our website.
• You can send as many cards as you want, but you can only win in one category.
• All cards must have a second language theme or slant.
• Submissions may use a language other than English but an English translation must be provided for judging purposes.

THE DIVA LIP SYNC BATTLE WINNERS

To celebrate our first-year anniversary in October, we asked our listeners to send us clips of them lip syncing either to a Diva or to THE Diva. Well, we weren't disappointed with the entries! It's amazing to see how fun and creative our winners are. It's too bad we could pick only two winners!
